Cultural Identity Wrap-Up

In this unit on cultural identity, I have learned about the melting pot and salad bowl concept. I believe that the United States' culture needs to be more of a melting pot than salad bowl. People need to look for similarities between each other, and not only see the differences. Different countries have different culture and tranditions. Some of these cultures are change or lost when they move from their native country, but some will always remain with them in the new country.
